Although I’ve called this a steak rub, it would actually work really well on any meat or fish. You could even mix it into some butter and spread it underneath the skin of a chicken next time you are having a roast. But for me, it works best on a beautiful piece of steak.
Regardless of whatever you sprinkle it on, it, will give you a beautiful smoky flavour and transform any protein.
Ingredients
1 tbsp of cumin.
1 tbsp of smoked paprika.
1 tbsp of salt or smoked salt.
1 tbsp of soft dark brown sugar.
1 tsp of garlic granules.
1 tsp of dry rosemary.
1 tsp chilli flakes, optional.
Method
Simply mix all the ingredients together then store in a jar. To use take some of the rub mixture and sprinkle over your steak before frying over a high heat to your liking.
