Prep Time 2 minutes - Total Time 12 minutes - Serves 2
I recon this is one of the quickest and easiest pasta recipes I’ve ever made. 10 minutes to make, really tasty and it only cost like £0.66p to make 2 portions….
Spaghetti = £0.44p
1/2 onion = £0.15p
Tomato pure = £0.07p
Rosemary from the garden = FREE
Chilli flakes = FREE (I always have these in, I never run out).
So it works out at 33p per person, delicious, cheap to make and perfect when you are low on time.
Ingredients
200 g of spaghetti.
1 onion, finely diced.
Pinch of chilli flakes or to taste.
1 sprig of fresh rosemary, chopped.
2 tbsps of tomato purée.
Method
Firstly, get the spaghetti on the go. Cook according to the packet.
Into a frying pan add a good drizzle of olive oil, add the onions, rosemary, chilli flakes and season. Cook over a medium heat till the onions is soft. Should take around 5 minutes.
Add the tomato purée, mix in and cookout for a 3-4 minutes.
Now, add few spoonfuls of pasta water to the pan and mix so that it all comes together.
By now the pasta should be ready, drain but save the cooking water. Add the spaghetti to the sauce, give it a good mix and check for seasoning. If need be add a little more pasta water if you think it’s too thick.
